FAQ

List of 12 frequently asked questions.

  • What is the difference between Early and Regular Decision?

    • Early Decision and Regular Decision are the two application tracks students can choose from when applying for the 9th grade at Loyola School.
    • Students who choose to apply Early Decision to Loyola School know that Loyola is their number one choice for high school and should they be admitted, they will enroll. These students will have an earlier deadline to submit Part 2 of their application and their financial aid application.
    • Students who apply Early Decision will be notified of admission in mid-December and must submit their enrollment contract by January 8th, 2026.
    • Students who choose to apply Regular Decision to Loyola School are the majority of applicants who will have a more standardized deadline for their admission and financial aid application and will be notified of their enrollment decision on January 29th, 2026. Regular Decision applicants will have until mid-March to submit their enrollment contract.
    • Students may change their application from Early to Regular or Regular to Early by notifying the admissions office.

Please note that if a student makes it to the semi-finalist round at Regis or is applying to a Specialized High School, we ask that they do not apply Early Decision, as Loyola's enrollment contract will be due before notification from these schools.
  • What are important dates to keep in mind?

    • The 2026-27 school year application will go live on August 11th, 2025.
    • Part 1 of the application will be due for all applicants on October 31st, 2025.
    • Part 2 of the application for the Early Decision applicants will be due November 14th, 2025. Regular Decision applications will be due December 12th, 2025.
  • Is there a standardized test required for admission?

    • Loyola accepts either the ISEE, SSAT, or HSPT. We do not prefer one test over the other and we view all equally.
    • Loyola will be hosting the HSPT in the fall. Check back for details and registration later this year.
    • If you wish for Loyola to receive SSAT scores our school code is 4710. If you wish for Loyola to receive ISEE scores our school code is 333755.
    • Loyola is not a TACHS school member. Please do not list us as one of your three school choices.
    • We strongly recommend that applicants take one of the above exams no later than December 1st.
